Bid Writing Service are delighted to announce that they have been certified as a carbon neutral company.
BWS have undergone a complete review of their carbon footprint with sustainable business advisory company Positive Planet, being measured on all aspects of the company’s emissions from direct to indirect, upstream and downstream.
Following a thorough process, the business has identified its carbon footprint and is now committing to an action plan which will pave the way to both short and longer-term benefits to the environment.
Mike Baron, BWS’ Business Development Director explains further: ‘We were keen to assess the impact our business has on the natural world and understanding our carbon footprint seemed the obvious first step. We’ve worked with Positive Planet to offset our carbon emissions by 150%, committing to the planting of 1,320 trees in a joint initiative with our sister company Barkers.
The whole team at BWS believe in the importance of being a carbon neutral company and are undertaking training to understand how they can reduce their carbon footprint at home too. In addition, we’re also aiming to be a Carbon Literate Certified Supplier, which will involve supporting our suppliers with contracting to improve their carbon footprint too.’
Mike is keen that other companies follow their example; he adds: ‘The process we’ve undertaken with Positive Planet has been both simple and quick to action. The reports provided have enlightened our business and have enabled us to take positive steps to offset and reduce the impact that our business has upon the world. We’d encourage other businesses to follow suit and gain carbon neutral status.
